PROJECT: RUMAH BARU PASSENGER & FREIGHT TERMINAL – COCOS (KEELING) ISLAND
CLIENT: VDM Group
SIZE: 3500M²
VALUE: $490,000.00
DURATION: 2 weeks
ACP Hardstand solutions were appointed to undertake the supply and installation of interlocking brick paving for the new passenger & freight terminal at Rumah Baru.
The main challenges for this project were from a logistical point of view due to the isolation of the island and the need to import all products from the mainland. All plant, equipment and even the brick paving itself was required to be inspected by quarantine prior to departure and again on return.
Our close working relationship with our suppliers and shipping teams ensured that this was achieved seamlessly.
Although whilst on the island we experienced two days of downtime, due to an impending cyclone, the project was competed on time and on budget. The VDM Group project team commented; “Your team is to be commended for an outstanding job in gruelling conditions.”
Even though ACP Hardstand solutions offer clients a guarantee on quality of workmanship, we have never had to make a return trip to the island for repair or maintenance.
